What do you think of Windows 7?
I have to say that in the short few months I have been using Windows 7 I have come to depend on it. I am now running it on 4 of my 6 machines, and the remaining two will definitely move when it releases.
What do I like best? Ahh, lots of things. Right now I think my favorite is Snap! Since screens grew beyond 640×480 in resolution I have struggled with getting multiple windows positioned so that I can work effectively across multiple applications, or multiple windows into the same application. That always meant a lot of pointing, clicking and dragging around, over and over again. With Snap it becomes a snap!
E.g. to position a window so that it covers the leftmost 50% of the screen, just make sure it has focus, then press and the left arrow. To move another window so that it covers the rightmost 50% of the screen, select it and press + right arrow. Wow! Its that easy. Alternatively you can just use the mouse! Grab a window by its top bar and pull it out over the left or right edge of the screen, and viola it will expand and snap to that 50% of the screen. Snap even has more features that let you stack, cascade or show windows side by side with just a click or keyboard press. Explore it and enjoy!
Now I am productive!
